Did You Know?

1902 – One contract Army dentist

1918 – 4,620 officer dentists and 891 enlisted dentists in the Army at height of WWI with 1,684 stationed in Europe

1944 – more than 18,000 Army dentists were on active duty during WWII with 7,103 serving overseas

1950-1953 – 2,641 dentists on active duty in the Army with 370 serving in Korea

1955-1975 – 2,817 active-duty dentists in the Army with 290 stationed in Vietnam at any given time.
